The land use/land cover (LULC) data for the years 2000, 2010, and 2020 were extracted for the Urumqi River Basin based on the GLC-FCS30 global fine-resolution land cover products (GLC-FCS30-2000, GLC-FCS30-2010, GLC-FCS30-2020), combined with high-precision DEM data, using the basin boundary for spatial clipping. The derived datasets have a spatial resolution of 30 meters and are stored in raster TIFF format.
For the year 2021, the land use data were extracted from the 10-meter global LULC product (released by Esri and derived from Sentinel-2 imagery processed by the European Space Agency, ESA). The dataset was similarly clipped to the Urumqi River Basin boundary, yielding a spatial resolution of 10 meters, and stored in raster TIFF format.

The data were sourced from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the European Space Agency (ESA).
Long-term land cover change detection was conducted using the complete Landsat satellite archive (Landsat TM, ETM+, and OLI) from 1984 to 2020 on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform. Through spatiotemporal change analysis and regional adaptive updating, we produced a global 30-meter fine-resolution dynamic land cover monitoring product for 2000-2020. The required land cover classes were subsequently extracted using the Urumqi River Basin watershed boundary.
For the 2021 land use data, we utilized the global 10-meter land cover product developed by Esri, which was generated from Sentinel-2 data processed by the European Space Agency (ESA). The 2021 land use status data were then extracted using the same Urumqi River Basin boundary.
The dataset underwent rigorous manual quality control verification to ensure accuracy.
